A Young Leader Making Her Mark On and Off the Golf Course
At just 16 years old, Ariel Collins is showing what can happen when talent, discipline, service and opportunity come together.
Ariel was selected alongside Jacob Smith as a 2026 TOUR Championship HOPE Tee Shot Honoree, an honor given to outstanding young participants of First Tee Metro Atlanta. The selection process included a golf competition, essay contest and interviews with tournament leadership.
As part of this incredible honor, Ariel and Jacob opened the TOUR Championship by hitting the ceremonial HOPE Tee Shots at the historic East Lake Golf Club before the top 30 PGA TOUR players began competition. Each honoree also received a $10,000 scholarship from Accenture to support their education.
Ariel has been part of First Tee Metro Atlanta for nine years. Throughout her journey, one of the values that has shaped her most is Respect. She has learned that respect is not only about how you treat others, but also how you value yourself.
What makes Ariel's story even more special is what she does when she is not competing. She volunteers as the head golf coach for the Henry County Special Olympics Golf Team, using the game she loves to encourage and serve others.
Her selection as a HOPE Tee Shot Honoree represents much more than an accomplishment in golf. It recognizes the character, leadership and commitment she demonstrates beyond the course.
Ariel's journey is a reminder of why investing in young people matters. When youth are given access to mentorship, education and opportunities to develop their gifts, they can accomplish incredible things while also learning how to use their success to serve others.
